Billing, plans and minutes
How plans, included minutes and overage work, how to change plan, and what happens when you cancel.
Find your billing page
Open Settings → Billing. It shows your current plan, how many minutes and numbers you've used this period, and the plans you can move to.
Plans and included minutes
Each plan includes a number of phone numbers and a number of talk minutes per month. The plan cards show both, and the price per minute after you go over.
- Minutes are counted from the moment a call is answered, and each call is rounded up to the next whole minute.
- Calls that are never answered, and calls from blocked numbers, don't use minutes.
- We email you when you reach 80% and 100% of your included minutes.
Overage and your spend limit
Minutes beyond your plan's allowance are billed at your plan's per-minute rate on your next monthly invoice. The Billing page shows Overage this month as it builds up. Some older plans don't bill overage; if yours is one of them, the page says so.
To stop overage getting out of hand, you have an Overage spend limit. Unless you change it, it's three times your plan's monthly price. When the month's overage reaches the limit, outbound campaigns pause and we email you. Incoming calls keep working.
- On the Billing page, find Overage spend limit and click to edit it.
- Enter a Limit in dollars and save, or remove the limit altogether.
Change your plan
- On the Billing page, under Change plan, click Upgrade or Downgrade on the plan you want.
- Check the preview: the new plan's numbers and minutes, the prorated charge or credit for the rest of this period, and the estimated next invoice.
- Confirm, or click Keep current plan.
Nothing is charged on the spot; the adjustment appears on your next invoice. If you're using more numbers than the new plan includes, release some first.
Invoices and payment details
Click Manage billing to open the billing portal (hosted by Stripe). There you can update your card, download invoices and receipts, and cancel. Plan changes happen on the Billing page itself.
Cancel your subscription
- Click Manage billing to open the billing portal.
- Choose to cancel your plan and confirm.
Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for, and everything keeps working until then. If you change your mind before that date, you can undo the cancellation in the billing portal.
Once the paid period ends:
- Calls stop: your numbers no longer answer, campaigns pause, and waiting Speed to Lead leads are canceled.
- 30 days later, numbers you bought through Boundless are released, numbers you ported in are disabled (not released), and call recordings are deleted.
If you want to keep a record, download a data export from Settings → Brand → Compliance & data before then (see Settings and your team).
If a payment fails
If a payment fails, update your card in the billing portal as soon as you can. We'll email you before anything stops. If the balance is still unpaid after 14 days, calls stop until it's paid, and after 30 days the same clean-up as a cancellation happens. Paying at any point before then puts everything back to normal.
