What's new in Boundless: seven features worth knowing

Regional voices, an agent that suggests its own improvements, caller memory you control, and the small details that make a call feel human.

Most of what makes a phone agent good is invisible on a feature list. Callers never think "nice dead-air handling." They just notice the call felt easy. Here are seven things we've built that do exactly that, and a few that keep you in control while they do.

1. Regional voicing

One agent can now sound local to everyone who calls it. Choose a voice per caller state or country, and a caller from Texas hears one voice while a caller from Ontario hears another, automatically. Combined with support for 33 languages, it means a national business can still sound like the one down the street.

2. An agent that tells you how to improve it

Rate any call that missed the mark. Each week, Boundless groups those misses and turns them into a short list of suggested changes to the agent. Apply one to a draft in a click, then check the draft against real past transcripts before it ever reaches a caller. You stay the editor. The agent just does the reading for you.

3. Caller memory, with the controls built in

Repeat callers shouldn't have to explain themselves again. With caller memory on, the agent can recall the last conversation with a number, or that caller's full history. You decide how long memory is kept, and you can erase any individual caller whenever you're asked to.

4. Natural pacing

Silence on a phone line reads as a dropped call. So the agent uses human-style fillers while it thinks, plays a soft keyboard sound while it looks something up, and checks in if the line goes quiet. It's a small thing that stops callers from saying "hello? are you still there?"

5. Blocking that also protects your bill

Block any number in one click, straight from the call it came in on. Blocked callers are never answered and never billed, so a persistent spammer costs you nothing.

6. Runaway-call protection

A pocket dial can leave a line open for an hour. A watchdog now ends calls a person has clearly walked away from, and every agent has a hard cap on call length, so one forgotten call can't run up your minutes.

7. Publish, don't pray

Every change to an agent starts as a draft. Test it, then publish. Live calls only ever use the published version, and every version is kept, so you can always see what was running and when. Nothing a caller hears changes until you decide it should.
